Pricing
Because a lot of the work we do is repetitive we are able to have pricing that allows us to quote you a price relatively quickly. Below is a general price list that you can use to roughly figure out what it might cost based on either square footage or linear footage.
Rough sawn flooring
We can offer rough sawn flooring in widths of 6", 8", 10" and 12" or any combination of the 4 for a price of $6.20 a square foot. Additional cost have to be added if your home is more than 50 miles from Springfield Mo. This additional cost covers the added expense of gas and other incidentals associated with your job and exactly how far away it actually is. This cost covers delivery, installation, sanding, stain and 4 coats of a water based finish within the 50 mile radius of Springfield Mo. Once you have decided if this product is what you want and can afford a quick call can answer any questions you might have and start the formal estimate process which will guarantee an exact cost so you can accurately figure it into your budget. Even though it is a rough sawn product by the time we lightly sand and then apply 4 coats of finsih the finished product is easily cleaned and cared for. Stairs are done on a per tread basis based on a 4' width or less at $100.00 a tread. This includes all material and finishes and also includes skirt boards.
Smooth flooring
We can offer rough sawn flooring in widths of 6", 8", 10" and 12" or any combination of the 4 for a price of $7.00 a square foot. The added cost for the smooth flooring is due to the extra sanding that is required to bring the floor to an acceptable state to apply stain and finish to it. To be perfectly honest we haven't done a smooth floor in a long time. Most people opt to go with the rough sawn because it looks so much nicer and after our careful sanding and finishing process comes out almost as smooth as a smooth floor not to mention the cheaper price. Stairs are done on a per tread basis based on a 4' width or less at $100.00 a tread. This includes all material and finishes and also includes skirt boards.
Log handrails
We price our railing on a per linear foot basis. For straight level railing our labor is $20.00 a linear foot. For railing that angles up stairs or that may slope to allow for a vaulted ceiling is $25.00 a linear foot. Material is almost impossible to price without first calling to discuss your particular situation. Factors such as are there any codes in place where you live dictates the spacing on the spindles. Of course if you don't have any codes that have to be enforced and can have a larger spacing between spindles this reduces material cost saving you money. Depending on how many turns or landings you have also dictates the amount of post your particular job will require which also influences the cost. Because of the above factors and others not mentioned it is impossible to give a linear foot price for material but by carefully looking at your job and going to www.heartwoodlogon.com you can figure your own material list and cost or a quick call to me and I would be happy to discuss it with you and give you an estimate or even meet you at your home in person to discuss your job and give you a written estimate.
These slabs of wood are approximately 3" thick and average about 24" wide up to 16' lengths. Any top that is a straight run and does not need to be joined to another to make wider or longer cost $75.00 a linear foot. That includes delivery and installation within a 50 mile radius of Springfield Mo. This also includes stain color of your choice and a bartop epoxy finish that looks like a piece of glass on top of your countertop. It is very durable but like any finish it has it's limitations. Any top that has to be cut to turn corners or two or more slabs joined to make a longer length cost $100.00 a linear foot. This also includes delivery and installation within a 50 miles radius of Springfield Mo. Typically though these types of tops have to be fabricated on site to assure a good fit. This also includes stain color of your choice and the same bartop epoxy finish. Any top that has to be made wider than 24" is figured on a per square foot basis of $50.00 a square foot. As always this includes delivery and installation within a 50 mile radius of Springfield Mo. and also includes stain color of your choice and the same bartop epoxy finish.
Live edge bar tops and counter tops.
Miscellaneous
Our timber staircases and furniture pieces are priced per individual piece. We would be glad to come to your home and discuss what you want and after a material package is figured we can then determine what the cost would be to construct your one of a kind project.
We finish our floors and bartops and that is included in the price. Most of our customers have their painter or they themselves opt to finish the log railing and timber staircases but we would be glad to do it for a nominal fee. Our furniture products are finished by us and that is included in the quoted price once the design is decided upon.
We are glad to come to wherever you might live and work on your home. We carefully figure our gas cost, motel cost and added food expense and give you a quote. If through some error of our own and the job takes longer to complete you will not be charged for extra cost. If however we cannot complete our job because of scheduling problems beyond our control we will have to add extra expenses but they will be kept to a minimum and average whatever the daily total is for motel and food expenses only. We carefully work with you and or your builder so that these extra expenses are avoided at all cost but sometimes because of other workers not completing their task in a timely manner it does affect us.
