Just a quick note on my experience working with
Big Dave Z.

     We, my wife and I, had been planning and
working towards building our retirement cabin at the
lake for a long time. When we finally got into the
project last year, we were quick to learn that some
people in the trade were both capable of
understanding and willing to relate to our dream and
help us accomplish our goal while others saw no
further than the check. Dave is the first type – easily
comprehending our desires and then fulfilling those
to the best of his ability (which is beyond that of
most if not all) in a manner that made a very positive
contribution to the cabin, the overall experience of
building it and the memories that will always remain.
He is the kind of craftsman that only needs to have
your desires made clear and he takes care of
everything in the best possible manner from that
point on. If I were to ever need to do this again – I
would want Dave to be even more involved in it from
start to finish.

My wife and I recently purchased a little cabin in
northern Wisconsin and took on the task of gutting
and replacing everything. When it came time for the
kitchen Dave provided his knowledge and expertise
in creating a beautiful rustic cabinet design. When
the time came for countertops however, we couldn’
t decide what to do. We saw some examples of
Dave’s countertop work on his website and made
the decision to have him install wood slab counters.
We could not be more thrilled with our decision.  
We are beyond pleased with the level of
craftsmanship and professionalism that Dave
brought to our project. The counters are more a
work of art than just simple countertops. They have
instantly become the central focal point of our
entire cabin décor. Dave attentively listened to our
plans and willingly answered every one of the
thousand questions we had.  We were able to be
present for part of the job and we both felt that it
was much more like having a good friend help us
with a project than it was having a stranger do
some work. We would have Dave back in a
heartbeat and would recommend him without
reservation to anyone who asks.
